Horse & Heart receives Innovation Fund grant to deliver more workshops

The Devon Mental Health Alliance Innovation Fund has been awarded to Horse & Heart by our Community Mental Health Development Leads in Torbay & South Devon.

Horse & Heart is a social enterprise which offers holistic horsemanship training for individuals and their horses. It aims to bring more understanding of equine psychology and higher standards of horsemanship in all aspects of equestrian/horse-related activities. Through a range of programmes, Horse & Heart uses connectivity with animals to aid mental wellbeing.

Marie Free, founder of Horse & Heart, wrote the following in response to receiving the Innovation Fund grant:

Horse & Heart is about you. It’s about learning resilience, empowerment, and affirmation with the help of horses. It is a place where everyone is welcome just as you are, offering quality training and experiences in holistic horsemanship — learning the language of horses to become a happier human.

This funding is an incredible gift to us, as it will enable us to offer a workshop that is accessible to all. Our most challenging core value to meet is absolute equality in our services, because the cost of keeping the horses and running our courses is very high, so the financial aspect is often an obstacle for students. Thanks to this grant, we will be able to reach out to those who need us the most — thank you!

If you would like to find out more or get involved with Horse & Heart, you can email Marie directly at marie@horse-and-heart.com, or call or message her on 07866 877 423.
